水曜日, 7月 26, 2006 Alright, first off, an introduction: The Hitachi Young Leader's Initiative is a 5-day conference of East Asia's future young leaders attended by digitaries, renowned professors and other leaders. 4 candidates from each country are selected to participate in this event through application and a two-phase interview. The initiative tackles the most pressing issues of the times to be addressed by the youth leaders. And so on and so forth. Actually, it was really scary when I first stepped into the first interview. My old prof., Dr. Tullao was one of the panelists! Along with two Engineering professors, one from HYLI and 1 I-don't-know-where-she-s-from panel member. The barrage of questions made my fingers fidget but of course, I didn't show any outward signs that they could see. And Dr. Tullao, really hammered me with questions I wanted to cry! They were really difficult, to say the least. But this is the fun part...I got through it! Well, not only that, Rachelle just caled in last night and said that I got 100% in the interview! I honestly couldn't believe it! Well, I still can't coming from the mouth of Rachelle who heard it from Dino who was scolded by Dr. Tullao for not joining (actually the whole Eco majors people) and mentioned it...actually bragged about it because I came from his CONADEV class. Now all I have to worry about is the second interview. Geez! That one will be scary. You know why? First off, I'm up against Wainright Yu. Yup! The Suma Cum Laude candidate himself! But then, I did best him in round one. Second, I'm up against really good people in other prestegious universities. Namely, UP-Diliman, UP-Manila and Ateneo De Manila. Geez! Yay me (dripping with sarcasm). Thirdly, I really don't know anything about the water topic. Thiose were just 5 minutes' worth of research, that's what my answers were. Anyway. All I have to do now is pray that the intervew doesn't fall on defense day. ^^x Kishi Seta Written in blood 水曜日, 7月 26, 2006
