Last night was a complete disaster! right now our slate is 3-3 and we need the last one bad, although I could say that we don't have much of a chance to break.

Round 3: Vs. ADMUC-OP
Theme: ENDANGERED...PEOPLES
THW treat its illegal immigrant as victims, not criminals
THW deny visas to overseas workers from states without adequate anti-trafficking policies
THW support the right to refoulment

The second one was debated and we lost. The thing is, I didn't know what refoulement means until now! It would've been a more strategic set-up for us! i mean, it's just expulsion of refugees! Argh! It would've been nettter for us because of the Spain case. The wrong move we did was that, the set-up was supposed to be human trafficking and we did drug trafficking. See how stupid that was?

Round 4: Vs. UPDC-Gov
Theme: REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
THBT required preabortion counselling constitues an unjust violation of a woman's right to choose
THW disclose the identities of sperm donors to their offspring upon request
THW condemn pro-abstinence NGOs

We lost this one in the third motion. Well, I think our mistake was we didn't defend the NGOs but we defended abstinence. It was a rather huge mistake for us and well, frankly, we lost due to that but they could be so eaily defeated!

Round 5: Vs. San Beda A-OP
Theme: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT
THW not place its juvenile ffenders under state custody
THW put an absolute end to diplomatic immunity
THW allow the use of lethal weapons for riot dispersal

And another loss defending the first motion. I thought they would strategize with sending them to reahb but I didn' press the issue. Argh! Why don't I trusy my intuition? Anyway, the point of the matter is, there was almost no clash! Same principles, only that they want the state to do it. The only winning point was about the media that they could disclose information. I didn't adequately answered that, e says, but it wasn't clearly stated anyway! Secondly, our second speaker's point wasn't delved into. Bad Adj!!!!

Round 6: Vs. IIUM A-Gov
Theme: RACE
THBT black empowerment is better forwarded by 50Cent than Oprah
THW ban race-based political paties
THW respect the right of white supremacist groups to openly march

And debating on the third motion, we finally won this one. It was an easy win, really, but it sucked to know it was an easy win. I went up against theem last year and, I've seen little improvement since they don't have a coach. The adj. said I was the best in that round but I don't think it was enough. The thing was, I was so calm then. The calmest I've been in the whole tournament season! Or, was it? I'm not sure if I was ever as calm in IIDC but certainly not in USTIVs.

Anyway, we have to win the last one later to have any hope of breaking.
